Say hello to chef Madeline Cabezut, sous chef over at Underbelly. Madeline's personal journey to become a chef isn't much different than other chefs I've met, but it took her a longer and a totally different route in life to arrive where she is today. She always had the love for cooking but she didn't get the opportunity to become a chef until her early 30s. For having been in the food industry for only a few years she has come so far and achieved so much, its amazing to hear her talk about it.
So what does Madeline like to do and cook when she's away from work? The ultimate day off breakfast for her includes bacon, pancakes with a fried egg on top, side of fruit, a cup of coffee, a tall glass of orange juice, and hanging out with friends. For our shoot she invited her friend Jeff who also works at Underbelly and we even had chef Chris Shepherd drop by for a few minutes to hang out and help. Between the smell of bacon and pancakes and a couple of talented chefs cooking it all, there couldn't have been a better way to spend a Sunday morning spent taking pictures.
