Say hello to pastry chef Rebecca Masson, owner and head chef over at Fluff Bake Bar. Fluff will be opening up a storefront soon, but in the meanwhile if you're wanting some treats from Rebecca, you can find her treats at local places such as Revival Market, Southside Espresso, Inversion Montrose, Agora, Double Trouble, Max's Wine Dive, and Batanga. Or if you're in dire need of some sweets right away you could get a hold of her directly through her website. Rebecca was also a contestant on Top Chef Just Desserts a couple of years back representing Houston with her pink cast! When Rebecca isn't taking orders from customers, making treats in her kitchen, or being distracted by shiny objects (I suffer from the same 'sickness') she's usually at her parents house on Sundays cooking with them in their beautifully remodeled kitchen. My favorite part of the whole kitchen? The converted pantry which is now a hidden sliding closet for some amazing liquors! For this Sunday dinner Rebecca's mom cooked tandoori chicken and green rice with naan, while Rebecca made brown sugar cake with macerated berries. I was honored to join them for dinner and the pictures below are some of what happened during prep and the cooking. Hope you enjoy.
Oh look, something shiny!!!
