Say hello to pastry chef Vanessa O'Donnell and her husband Michael, owners of Ooh La La Bakery Boutique in west Houston and the Katy area, and their two dogs Bella and Maddie. In their beautiful and organized kitchen Vanessa prepared gooey Brownies - a recipe from Julia Child's cookbook - and Michael prepared a pretzel crusted chicken breast with homemade honey mustard sauce, gratin dauphinoisse potatoes, and broiled tomato with mozzarella and basil.
Throughout their house there are small gems which have been beautifully placed by the couple that let you know you're definitely inside a chef's house. In one of the hallways near the kitchen you can find a chalkboard painted wall with some beautifully drawn art work by a local artist depicting a "Cafe de O'Donnell" inside the house complete with a menu of whats cooking each day of the week. In another spot you can find a frame with one of the very first recipes Vanessa credits with getting her interested in cooking and leading her down the path which brought her to where she is now as a chef.
