Say hello to the award winning chef, Randy Evans, and his beautiful family. Randy is the executive chef and owner of Haven and the author of an award winning cookbook. For our shoot Randy suggested cooking breakfast for his family, which he often does. The best part is his two daughters who help him prepare and cook the breakfast with him. Randy and the girls prepared homemade pancakes and scrambled eggs which they make once a week. They also made bacon and breakfast sausage, mexican hot chocolate, and topped the pancakes off with maple syrup all of which Randy got from Revival Market in the heights. A bit of a cool fact, the knife Randy uses to prepare everything at home is the very first knife he bought almost 20 years ago while in college.
I could go on about how great of a breakfast it was, but I'll let the pictures do the talking. The best part for me though? Randy signed a copy of his cookbook for me right before I left. I'm no chef, but I will be attempting to make a few of the dishes in the book in the near future. If I get any of the recipes half as good as they are in the book I think I'll call it a successful cooking session!
